  • How to Join Enigma
To join Enigma, first sign-up for the Enigma e-mail announcements list (signing up for the much higher traffic chat list is optional, but a good way of getting to know who everybody is.) An introduction to the list will be sent to you when you subscribe - observe the list rules. Show up to one of our Monday meetings, or to one of our outside events - everybody is friendly, and it's amazing how quickly you start to feel at home. That's it. There are no dues. No requirements, other than signing in on our attendance list at Monday meetings (Enigma is open to all students, staff, faculty at UCLA, and community members outside of UCLA.) You can put your contact information on our phone list, if you wish, and we'll ask you for a couple of pieces of information if you want to check books out, but those are both optional.

    There, wasn't that easy?

  • Using the Calendar
Public (and even private) events are calendared on the Enigma Monthly Calendar. Find out what events are going on. Stake out a day in advance, and make your event known. Plan out your events (such as parties, live games, screenings, conventions, etc.), using the calendar as a visual guide to other events around your date, including most U.S. holidays. There is also a Two Week at a glance feature which allows you to get a quick glance at the upcoming week's events.

Anonymous posts will take up to 48 hours to appear, depending on when the adminstrators get around to approving the event.

If there's an event that we've put up that you'd like to alter or remove, contact the officers at [enigma (at) ucla .dot. edu], and include "Calendar" in the subject.

  • Using the Search Function
There is a search box at the top right-hand corner of the screen at Enigma's Main Index Page which links to a Google search of the Enigma website. Use this when looking for something specific, like the Club Constitution, or an event. Please note that search entries can be up to several weeks out of date, or missing completely, depending on when the Googlebot last crawled the site.

  • Getting Carpools
Join the chat list and send an e-mail to the list for rides. Otherwise, you can e-mail the officers at [enigma (at) ucla .dot. edu], and they will relay your request.

  • Using the Library
The Enigma Library, of over over 1000+ books, videos, and games, is currently being cataloged so we can display our holdings online for easy checkout. In the meantime, talk to the librarian (Graydon Schlichter), or if you ever drop by the FIRM, you can take a look at the holdings and check items out there.

  • Finding Games & RPG campaigns
If you're new, go to one of our Monday meetings and sign up, or e-mail the officers at [enigma (at) ucla .dot. edu]. Once you get to know people in the club, you'll find out what games are going on where, and who to talk to.

  • Submitting to or Working for Enigmata, Enigma's Literary & Arts journal
E-mail the officers at [enigma (at) ucla .dot. edu]. The publication schedule is an issue per quarter. You can work as an editor or staff contributor. Or you can just submit your original article, story, poetry, art, or other creative work, prior to 6th week in the quarter (date subject to change.) Editorial and submissions guidelines will be posted shortly.

  • Officer Recruitment - Are you smart, dedicated, and energetic? We want you as an officer!
Officers make the club go. They try and get some of the money that you contribute to the Undergraduate Students Association and Graduate Students Association, so that we can put on events, advertise the club, get speakers, purchase materials, etc. There are a variety of positions to apply for, and we encourage everyone exercise their leadership and organizational talents and try out. E-mail the officers at [enigma (at) ucla .dot. edu].

  • Activities Recruitment for Winter Quarter 2006/Spring Quarter 2006
How do we determine what activities to run? Why, someone comes up with an idea and volunteers to run it! Do you have an idea you'd like to see turned into an event at a Monday Night Meeting? Do you have an idea of an event to run outside of the Monday Night Meeting that you'd like to get the club involved in? We want to hear from you! E-mail the officers at [enigma (at) ucla .dot. edu].

  • Enigmacon 2007 - Enigma's own convention at UCLA. More on this later. Read about Enigmacon 2005!
